Mario Tennis
Mario serves up tennis fun! Alex - Love!
Reviewed by Starmand - September, 2000
Mario Tennis is quite a good game! I was kind of skeptic, I don't usually enjoy sports games very much... but after all the great reviews, I had to try it. And this game definately lives up to the reviews!

Gameplay A great tennis game has to have tight controls, and this one does. They need to be simplistic too. I actually find this game really frustratingly hard when you get up into higher difficulties. A is top spin, B is slice, and there are numerous combos of those two buttons. Serving is very tight, and the matches are fast-paced and tough. Tons of moves like lobs, volleys etc. 10 in this area.
10/10
Graphics The graphics in this game are very pretty. The particle effects and color changes when you hit smash balls are very sharp. The character's shadows actually look like the character, and move along with him too! WOW! The characters look very rounded, too.
9.7/10
Sound Pretty much the usual, but they threw in a bunch of classic tunes too. The character voices are great, and funny, although sometimes hard to hear.
8.3/10
Replay Value Hmm... I suggest you play this game a lot if you want to get everything. It can get pretty frusterating though... I was hooked the first time I played, and I'll keep playing it. At least until I get Majora's Mask!
9.0/10
Overall This is an awesome game, and it is definately one of the better sports titles on the system. Get out there and buy it! It rules.
FINAL SCORE: 9.3/10
